After Microsoft announced in April this year, it officially opened a new version of the Phone Link application for Win10 and Win11 users around the world today, which can send and receive Apple iMessage information on the PC side.
With the Phone Link app on Win10, Win11 and the Link to Windows app on iOS, iPhone users can make and receive calls, send and receive text messages, and check notifications directly on their computers.
This means that Win11 can use iMessage indirectly, but IT Home has noticed some limitations, such as not supporting group chats, pictures, videos, and history.
Also worth noting is that there is no way to distinguish between iMessage and SMS text messages on the PC side, and all messages are displayed with the same gray bubble.
iPhones must be running iOS 14 or later, and the feature isn’t available on iPads or Macs, Microsoft said.
